A fresh take on a vintage building, new life for an older home, beautiful preservation for a historic structure, a smart and effective solution to an architectural dilemma -- Rogers Krajnak Architects puts thought and care into every aspect of their projects to create beautiful environments that meet their clients’ needs.
The firm is so adept at planning and design, and so technically proficient, that they are often chosen to handle complicated renovations and additions for older structures, including those with historic significance.
“We’re really known for, and trusted with, projects that are very complex, especially in significant older buildings that people are trying to rethink and transform,” says Darryl Rogers, principal at Rogers Krajnak Architects. The firm’s other principal is Peter Krajnak.
Rogers Krajnak Architects focuses on creating environments for worship, education, business, healthcare, community and residential clients.
Their services include master planning, facilities analysis, programming, architectural design, sustainable design, interior design and graphic design.
“We’re a very process-oriented architectural firm,” says Rogers. “We’re typically involved in the entire project process, which includes being brought in during the earliest portions to help our clients understand how to define the project before it’s truly designed. We help people with the big-picture thinking before the project is even a project.”
After working with clients to help them visualize a project concept that meets their requirements, Rogers Krajnak Architects completes the technical side of the process including design, specifications and meticulous construction documents. Along with solid planning and creative design work, the firm is known for its attention to detail and expert technical services.
Founded in 2001 by Rogers and Krajnak, both award-winning architects, the firm is headquartered in downtown Columbus in a renovated one-time muffler shop. They have 7 people on staff including four registered architects.
Rogers and Krajnak maintain leadership and involvement throughout their clients’ projects. “We start with a vision that’s very abstract, sometimes it’s a sketch, sometimes it’s a conversation, and through our process we bring that vision to its culmination as a completed building,” says Rogers. “It’s really satisfying to me to be a part of that.”
Some of the firm’s recent projects include the new Mid-Ohio Foodbank in Grove City, the Metro Parks Inniswood Pavillion in Westerville and an office renovation for Lifeline of Ohio. Among its most complex projects: a renovation design for the landmark Trinity Episcopal Church in downtown Toledo, the renovation design for the historic Ariel Theatre in Galipolis, Ohio and a design for a major expansion of the Broad Street Presbyterian Church in downtown Columbus.

Rogers and Krajnak are both Bexley residents and have worked on many Bexley residential projects.
A longtime Bexley Chamber board member, Rogers especially enjoys collaborating with other members on Chamber projects. “Without the Chamber, Bexley would be missing an important forum for business leaders.”
